Three Times a Day: A Life Aligned with the Lord’s Prayer
🙏 The Lord’s Prayer (NIV)
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
(Matthew 6:9–13, NIV)
⏰ When My Phone Dings, I Pause to Pray
With the help of my church, I’ve started a new habit:
Praying the Lord’s Prayer at 8:30 AM, 12 PM, and 6 PM, every single day.
When my KakaoTalk alert goes off, I pause and turn to God.
At first, it was just a reminder.
But now, it feels like a divine invitation—a moment to reconnect with God and reflect on Jesus’ words.
🍽📚💬 A Sacred Pause in the Middle of Everyday Life
Whether I’m chatting, reading, washing dishes, or snacking—
when the alarm rings, I stop.
It reminds me of a childhood “freeze” game,
but this is no game.
It’s a spiritual discipline—training my heart to respond to God instantly.
In those brief pauses,
I gain insight, perspective, and renewed awareness of His presence.
🕯 From Sodom to Egypt: A Biblical Pattern
This daily rhythm brings certain scriptures to mind:
-
When God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot's family was warned: “Don’t look back.”
-
During the Exodus, the Israelites had no time to let the dough rise. They ate unleavened bread and left Egypt immediately.
-
Jesus said, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:62, NIV)
These stories teach urgency, obedience, and focus—not looking back, not delaying, but moving with God.
🌠 Practicing for the Return of Christ
Could this kind of practice be a rehearsal for when Jesus returns?
A moment of sudden judgment and salvation, all at once.
This daily pause feels like spiritual training—
staying alert, spiritually awake, and ready for the day of the Lord.
💡 Tiny Habits, Lasting Transformation
Maybe it’s not about how long we pray,
but how often and how sincerely we turn our hearts toward Him.
These brief, intentional moments—
just one prayer, three times a day—
have changed the rhythm of my soul.
📌 Final Thoughts
What would happen if we all paused, just for a minute,
to invite heaven into our day?
It’s not about the perfect words.
It’s about a heart trained to turn to the Father—again and again.
